The Emirate of Ras Al Kaimah

Located in the northern part of the emirates, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is the fourth largest of the seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates. RAK offers excellent investment opportunities in diverse ever-growing economic areas (in the international maritime related industries and services, in tourism projects and promotion, or in mining, minerals exploration, extraction and quarrying projects). The establishment of RAK Free Trade Zone offers full ownership, full exemptions from tax and commercial levies and 100 % repatriation of capital and profits.

As the emirate will never be a major oil producer, RAK has instead to concentrate on developing its industrial sector. It opened the UAE’s first cement company in the early 1970s and is now the UAE’s largest producer of cement. In the 1980s, the emirate formed RAK Ceramics, which has become the world’s largest ceramics producer, and Julphar, the Gulf region’s first pharmaceuticals company.

The emirate has also embarked on an aggressive development programme, with a particular focus on tourism and real estate. Capitalising on its virgin coastline and mountains, RAK has launched several mixed-use projects that will feature five-star hotels, residential units and resorts. Some of the more ambitious plans include a mountain resort with an artificial ski slope and a spaceport to host the Middle East’s first suborbital flights. To bring in the people, the emirate launched in 2007 the UAE’s fourth national carrier, RAK Airways, natioanl airline of ras Al Khaimah.

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), which is fast becoming a tourist stop here in the United Arab Emirates, is donning another feather to its cap with the addition of an exclusive residential and leisure resort:  Al Hamra Village. Located to the southern end of Ras Al Khaimah City, the 5 million square meter  expanse is a picturesque sight that is set around salt water lagoons. Al Hamra Village offers world class amenities. These include hotels and restaurants, a marina with berthing facilities and excellent telecommunication networks to remain connected with the outside world. The residential project is dubbed as an excellent real estate development project that allows Freehold property owners a chance to redefine the meaning of luxury living. The fast developing road networks within Ras Al Khaimah and the emirate's proximity to the commercial hub Dubai, make Al Hamra Village an ideal investment for those seeking a perfect getaway.
